Arrow Thin Left Icon
Written by Gifted Local Founder, Helen Robinson

From a pioneering art-led hotel to an award winning high street market, Wood Green has some of the most creative and loved independent businesses in London. Gifted Local's sellers share their favourites...

Green Rooms

London’s unique arts-led social enterprise hotel offers discounted rates for those in the creative industry to come and stay. The lobby bar, with Japanese restaurant Oita, is a great place for meetings, eating or getting a bit of work done during the day while evenings host regular pop up restaurants, supper clubs, live music and DJ nights.

Blue House Yard

An imaginative and Instagram worthy cluster of colourful huts. Housing new and exciting businesses such as vegan beauty products Nini Organics, jewellery store Jules & Gems Boutique and the ethical fashion boutique Pop London. Regular events are held and the big red bus Cakes & Ladders café is a fun place to hang out, drink coffee and play board games.

Leafy Bean Co

This Timeout award winner recently featured in Village Raw and can be found on platform one of Bowes Park Train Station. Leafy Bean Co has fast become one of Wood Green's best places to get coffee and speciality teas - a lovely community oasis where you'll always receive a warm welcome from their very knowledgeable staff.

Karamel Restaurant

Karamel Restaurant is a vegan restaurant, bar, event space and art gallery with week night gigs so definitely worth checking out their website regularly to see what’s going on. A specific kids menu and activities mean families are more than welcome too. Oh, and did we mention this is THE place in Wood Green for a Vegan Sunday Roast?

The Prince N22

This is Aimee from Woodle Books’ favourite pub serving some of the best beers from Wood Green, Tottenham, Swansea and Ontario, Canada (amongst others but they do change them regularly). There is also a very good wine list and the food is top notch. The pub has achieved that difficult balance between attracting the young crowds while keeping the regulars happy.

Bean + Brew

The newest addition in town prides itself on it's speciality coffees, loose-leaf teas and tasty treats. If you’re lucky enough to bag a window seat it’s a wonderful spot for some serious people watching.

Myddleton Road Market

Just on the border of Wood Green (but we’re including it anyway) Myddleton Road Market is a favourite of Emily from Hello Chicken. Situated on a vibrant little street full of independent cafes, shops and restaurants and every month a beer, food and craft market is held attracting people from all over the borough - you’ll also find many of our Gifted Locals there selling their wares.
